Description
The Associate Development Manager position at Harmonie Park Development provides an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a career in real estate development and will be exposed to all aspects of the industry as well as elements of joining a start-up. The position responsibilities include, without limitation: providing support for all development related tasks and responsibilities including market research, municipal code and policy research, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and entitlement processing, and participation in community outreach process; interaction with design, construction, and leasing teams; client relations and tasks related to development advisory services; and reporting, writing, and presentations. Although financial training is not a prerequisite, interest in or some experience in supporting financial analysis is a plus. Typical tasks may include:
- Development site acquisition including site identification, zoning interpretation, concept development, financial analysis/underwriting, and general due diligence coordination.
- Development management prior to construction including developing the concept with the consultant team through construction drawings, obtaining necessary discretionary entitlements, development permits and building permits.
- On-going project coordination during construction to maintain original vision, budget and schedule.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting for all on-going developments and prospective acquisitions.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS / REQUIREMENTS
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work in a small team environment
- Language Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong Mathematical skills
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Argus Developer or similar analytical software
- Adept reasoning ability
- Basic knowledge of development process, including zoning, site feasibility, site planning, civil and architectural design, permitting and bidding
- Previous experience in building/planning-related disciplines is a plus
