CBRE - A global leader in facility management is seeking to add an Audio Visual Booth Technician to its winning team in Beaverton, Oregon. This is a client-facing role with a leading-edge apparel company that requires a high-level of technical aptitude matched with an equal level of customer service as the candidate will be in direct contact with executives from around the world.
 
Live technical event experience is an essential component to this position as you will set, operate, and restore audio, video, and lighting components. Candidates must have an ability to self-manage, work well with other a/v technicians, and adapt to last-minute changes without issue. Ideal candidates will be experienced, well-rounded live-event 'generalist' a/v technicians that have an average to excellent proficiency in audio and video, projectors, and presentation software like PowerPoint and Keynote. 
 
AV Technician Expectations:
*         Flexible work schedule.  Work week runs Sunday through Saturday.  Technicians are scheduled event-to-event so the schedule requires flexibility; some events may run longer than scheduled, some events may be cancelled on short notice. 
*         Operate analog and digital audio boards (Allen + Heath), mix wireless mics, communication systems, run audio cues, and should have a minimal skill level of an A2.
*         Operate video presentation systems, Keynote/PowerPoint, laptops (Mac/PC), video switchers, projectors, and confidence monitors.
*         Work/Tech an event utilizing industry experience and professional business acumen, working as a self-starter.
*         Effectively collaborate with clients, a/v crew, and producers to fulfill event goals including set-up, rehearsal, show, and restore.
*         Work safely and have skill and comfort in driving/operating a scissors lift in a safe and proper manner that aligns with venue protocol as well as a basic understanding and adherence to OSHA, safety regulations and industry standards.
*         Constant communication with supervisors, co-workers, vendors and occasionally clients.

 

 


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES  

Operation of all audio-visual equipment during events with the aim to provide high quality technical standards

Ensure that the audio-visual equipment is tested and in correct working order before use or an event; Investigate faults an recommend further actions to rectify

Maintains audio visual equipment including routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and inventory control

Maintain a strong working knowledge of video and audio equipment, wireless technology, computers, LCD projectors, and video conferencing equipment

Coordinate integration with specialty audio visual equipment as needed

Responsible for cord management & safe set up

Provide regular feedback to AV Manager or Workplace team on communication issues and service improvements

Liaison with client management regarding the exact audio-visual requirements for events. This will include assistance with PowerPoint presentations, audio and videoconferences

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job/Skill Requirements:

  • Willingness to work in a closed control booth for extended periods.
  • Ability to work well under very tight deadlines with swift response time.
  • Ability to stay focused multi-tasking priorities.
  • Arrive to shifts punctually in show attire, well-groomed and presentable.
 
Preferred Job/Skill Abilities:
These skills are not essential for hiring qualification, but priority will be given to better qualified candidates:
  • 3-5 Years A/V Technician experience working in a corporate environment.
  • Stage Management
  • Video Conference experience.
  • HD Camera operation.
  • Technical direction.
  • Skilled working in a client-facing role.
General Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Non-disclosure agreement required.
  • Background check.
  • Start date within 2-3 weeks of background check approval.
  • Ability to accomplish any task with minimal instruction or supervision.
  • Creative, resourceful, and flexible approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to operate quickly and independently.
  • Proficiency in standard business software & technology (Excel, PowerPoint/Keynote, Outlook).
  • Deep commitment to customer service and quality.
  • Honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic.
 
Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting or standing for long periods of time, climbing staircases, lifting up to 50 pounds, extensive use of a computer; and an ability to safely drive/operate a scissors lift.
