Under minimal direction the Senior Research Analyst position is responsible for the completion of qualitative and quantitative real estate research in the analysis and reporting of market trends.  The Senior Research Analyst provides critical independent perspective on changes and trends within the real estate industry, utilizing Yardi Matrix and external third-party data to produce high-level analyses and reports. The Senior Research Analyst will maintain, update and expand existing statistical models, as well as create new data models. The Senior Research Analyst is expected to demonstrate sound analytical judgement, and the capacity to efficiently communicate, and present, findings to internal management and external entities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Researches, identifies, and analyzes third-party and market data to identify real estate trends/opportunities in support of key goals and initiatives

·       Acts as a liaison for external and internal client inquires and manages special projects

·       Generates and maintains statistical data models, specific to client related solutions, trend findings, or other data models as requested

·       Produces accurate real estate forecasts

·       Documents and generates necessary reports and recommendations based on findings; including, but not limited to, real estate strategies and potential market impacts (for internal & external distribution).

·       Develops and presents findings to internal management and clients

·       Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships across departments and teams

·       Attends industry events and presents findings and recommendations from the department

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics; or related experience.  (MBA preferred)
  • Four plus (4+) years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in managing data and creating statistical models; creating, formulating and testing hypotheses
  • Accomplished presenter; must be comfortable presenting to senior leadership as week as clients and prospects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with both internal and external clients
  • Expert understanding of economic theory and principles and their application to the real estate industry
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong problem solving and organization skills, with a high initiative and a sense of accountability and ownership
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Expert MS Office Skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work at assigned office location
  • Up to 25% travel required
  • Attend meetings and perform tasks for long periods of time on a computer and on the telephone
  • Regular attendance and work schedule are essential functions of this job
