Head of Credit Risk & Underwriting (US)

With an $800 million US portfolio, Trez provides capital solutions for construction, value-add, and bridge opportunities across nearly all real estate asset classes. With the continued focus on the US business, Trez has created a new role with a mandate to lead and manage a dynamic team and oversee the underwriting and monitoring of new and active debt and equity transactions originating out of our US operations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Credit Officer, the new Head of Credit Risk & Underwriting will play a vital role in the risk management of the business as Trez pursues an aggressive growth strategy. He/she will oversee a team of 8 located in Vancouver and Florida and play a key role in supporting the Chief Credit Officer as he continues to develop new processes and systems to continuously evolve and support the business as it grows.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced commercial real estate credit and underwriting or origination leader with a demonstrated background in credit risk management. Although US experience would be ideal it is not an absolute requirement so long as the candidate brings exceptional skills in other areas. Trez is not only looking for someone with strong technical skills but also a true leader who can coach and mentor a talented team to build effective relationships across the business. The role maintains strong balance between a strong risk mindset and a key partner and an enabler of the business.

This role is ideally based in Vancouver with the Chief Credit Officer, and the CEO but will support US origination teams based in Texas, Florida, and Canada.
