Property Accountant

Venture One is seeking an experienced full-time Property Accountant for our Rosemont office to assist with the accounting functions of the commercial real estate business. This position will report directly to the Controller and Vice President of Finance.

What does the Property Accountant do at Venture One?

• Manage commercial billing of tenants and review charges with Property Managers for accuracy
• Review and abstract leases for entry into accounting and budgeting systems
• Record receipts (A/R) and payables (A/P)
• Reconcile bank statements
• Support reporting for 3^rd party monthly packages and investor statements
• Assist Controller and Vice President of Finance with various accounting projects as assigned

• Familiarity with basic accounting and financial concepts
• Attention to detail and intuitive analytical thought processes enabling critical self-evaluation of work product

What are the basic requirements and expectations?

• Experience with Yardi and/or MRI is preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; or previous experience as a property accountant
• 1-3 years experience in general accounting
• Highly Organized
• Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs with a emphasis on Excel.
• Previous exposure to commercial real estate or construction is a plus
