RESPONSIBILITIES  

Performs data analysis on commercial real estate markets and prepares loan submission reports. Knowledgeable on fundamental concepts, practices and procedures associated with commercial real estate finance, including commercial appraising, market analysis, and investment analysis.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  

Prepares loan submission reports for review by loan producers using advanced knowledge to analyze and interpret from varying complex facts and circumstances including the affordability components of the real estate. Based on specialized academic credentials as well as specialized training and experience, employee is proficient in understanding and using fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with commercial real estate finance, including commercial appraising, market analysis, investment analysis, and accounting.

Demonstrates advanced knowledge and understanding of commercial real estate lending transaction process which includes specialty of affordable housing. Assists loan producer(s) in day-to-day responsibilities which include not only packaging, lender due diligence, negotiation process, commitment process, and closing process but also discretion and judgment in recommending optimal options based on the affordable nature of the transactions and other relevant facts and circumstances.

Interfaces with clients, financing sources, government agencies, etc., to complete tasks and advance the projects forward. May assist in business development opportunities based on advanced knowledge of affordable housing.

Gathers complex data on local, regional, and national commercial real estate markets to discern impact on the affordable housing transactions. Includes researching a variety of sources including, but not limited to industry, regulatory and economic information, financial periodicals and newspapers, mortgage and lease documents, demographic data, property information, affordable housing regulatory agreements, real estate tax exemptions, and company records.

Works independently as assignments are broad in nature (requiring advanced knowledge in affordable housing) and complex in nature (large portfolios, loan structures, complicated, legal issues affordable housing restrictions, etc.).

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university; 1 year in mortgage banking experience required with an additional 2 years related industry experience preferred. Course work or commensurate experience with fundamentals of real estate finance, basic appraisal principals, market analysis and accounting.


CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
  


Salesperson or real estate brokers license preferred but not required.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  


Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.


FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
  


Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.


REASONING ABILITY
  


Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
  


Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products including: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
