Sr. Associate/Manager/Associate Director of Investments – Mixed Use/Multi-Family
General Summary: Supports the Vice President of Investments by providing input for the strategic management of the company’s mixed use/multi-family properties to maximize operational and financial performance. Level of position based on experience of selected candidate.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Creates development proformas, operating budgets and capital plans.
- Supports execution of business plans on wholly-owned and joint venture properties.
- Provides input for third party management activities, optimizing operating costs and maximizing property performance.
- Development of asset management reports, benchmarking, market condition analysis and financial proformas.
- Provides education and cross-train Investments team on the multi-family asset management procedures.
- Cross-train with retail shopping center investments team on projects including acquisitions, dispositions and joint venture asset management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 3 - 7 Years of commercial real estate experience, with at least 3 years of relevant multi-family asset management experience of Class A apartment projects, as part of mixed use properties.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Economics or other business related field required
- Advanced Excel skills and Argus proficiency required.
- Experience and knowledge of retail shopping center acquisition, disposition and asset management.
- Experience with acquisitions, ground-up new development, renovation, joint ventures and dispositions of apartment and mixed-use projects.
Special Characteristics:
- Travel will be required for asset inspections, property management meetings and condo association meetings.
- Project management skills: proven ability to write, read and understand financial reporting packages and operational plans; including budgets, capital plans, maintenance and design plans.
- Strong communication skills; ability to provide clear and concise direction, including recommendations to senior management, constructively advocate or support a position and ability to succinctly convey critical information.
- Ability to successfully work with and manage internal and external teams. Negotiate agreements with partners, brokers and managers.
- Experience and knowledge of retail shopping center acquisition, disposition and asset management.
- Self-motivated and willing to take on many responsibilities and develop framework for the organization in multi-family asset management.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage projects efficiently.
