Description
The Senior Analyst position is focused exclusively on the sale of commercial real estate assets primarily in the office institutional investment sector in Chicago and the broader Midwest.
CBRE Capital Markets Senior Analysts have the opportunity to be involved in every stage of each transaction, including- underwriting, preparation of offering memorandum, market research, property tours, and client meetings / events. Senior Analysts work in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
Main Responsibilities
Prepare broker opinions of value and requests for proposals for commercial real estate transactions, including, but not limited to, market research, financial modeling, and composition of executive summaries.
Responsible for complex financial modeling of commercial real estate transactions and utilize market and data / comps to correctly underwrite potential transactions.
Manage and coordinate the marketing and due diligence processes for pending transactions, including being in constant communication with the advisor(s), the prospective investors and the client.
Thoroughly understand and review real estate documents (leases, loan documents, property taxes, appraisals, etc.) to extract critical information for pro forma analysis, and uncover any potential concerns or terms that would be pertinent to underwriting.
Responsible for training and mentoring junior analyst
- 3 -5 years of experience in a financial analysis environment; commercial real estate industry experience or interest preferred OR 2 - 3 years of experience in a commercial real estate capital markets role
Experience underwriting commercial investment opportunities, with an emphasis on office properties.
Advanced financial analysis proficiency using Excel modeling, Argus Enterprise and/or Argus DCF proficiency required.
Strong technical writing skills with ability to communicate analytical and marketing data effectively.
Excellent attention to detail within a tight deadline environment.
Education & Skills
Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong aptitude for financial analysis and Excel modeling.
Database and/or Salesforce CRM experience a plus
