JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:  

The Assistant Property Manager is a fiduciary to whom the property owner’s financial and material assets are entrusted, and who manages those assets in good faith, with loyalty and prudence.   

The Assistant Property Manager (APM) lessens the burden of workload for the property manager. Depending on staffing, the APM may also be called upon to perform some responsibilities ordinarily associated with the position of Property Administrative Manager.  

Outstanding assistant property managers are known for continually elevating the quality of work produced and aspiring to make decisions and manage functions with a degree of proficiency ordinarily associated with higher-ranking positions.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  

Education and Experience:  

· Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other relevant field of study; or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the attributes necessary to successfully perform the job.  

· Must have experience in administration and management of resources.  

· At least five years’ experience in property management, particularly retail property management, is preferred.   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

The typical scope of responsibility includes active involvement in tenant relations, property events, security, property administration, service contract performance, property appearance, property inspection, community relations, various reports to clients, tenants, and Jamestown departments, and other job-related duties as assigned.  

 IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:   

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.   

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:  

Computer, Microsoft Office, other computer applications, and typical office supplies and equipment.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  

Demonstrated expertise and successful performance in the following duties and demands of the job:  

· Managing relationships.  

· Written and oral communication.  

· Developing and managing financial documents and transactions.  

· Efficiently managing workload by establishing objectives, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.  

· Adapting with composure to the changing conditions of a fluid environment.   

· Proficiency in all assigned responsibilities within six months.
