Banyan Residential is seeking a full-time development analyst to assist with prospective deal underwriting, asset and market-level due diligence, and development execution/project management work. Established in 2018, Banyan specializes in Opportunity Zone transactions and has already built an active development pipeline comprised of over 1,200 multifamily units, 380,000 SF of office and 10,000 SF of retail exceeding $450M in value in multiple US gateway markets. Analyst responsibilities will include general financial analysis including new deal underwriting and PPM/investment memorandum creation, as well as development execution work including design team project management, entitlements, JV structuring/negotiations, book-keeping/accounting management, financing, and more.
Candidates must have 1-3 years of prior real estate finance experience (real estate financial analyst, investment sales analyst, investment banking analyst, etc.) and be familiar with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Candidates need to have an established understanding of real estate finance concepts (discounted cash flow analysis including waterfall modeling). A modeling test will be administered as part of the interview process.
This is an opportunity to join a lean development group (two principals) and obtain broad-based development execution experience across multiple product types. Banyan’s analyst will gain first-hand exposure to all components of the development life-cycle.
