JOB DESCRIPTION

The Operations Assistant will provide support to the Construction Team and Project Managers throughout the construction process.   The role will include, as needed, support for organizational and administrative tasks, with exposure to the entirety of a construction project (permitting of land through occupancy of each home). The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can manage multiple assignments and a variety of project tasks that range from organizational filing to coordinating subcontractors.  The preferred person for this role will proactively work with team members to determine what assistance is needed and prioritize their work.  Organizational skills, multi-tasking, and communication skills are paramount.

 SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Provide clear and timely communication of project status to internal teams, with a specific focus on potential project issues supported by options for resolution
  • Develop, manage and report construction schedules for multiple projects, working with teams in the field to execute the schedules and anticipate delays before they occur
  • Regularly review construction documents and shop drawings
  • Design and implement processes and systems that can be flexibly applied to different jurisdictions and their unique requirements
  • Track inspections, permits and final approvals required for each project
  • Develop timely and actionable post-mortems for projects analyzing construction budgets and schedules
  • Develop a regional network of service providers to promptly fill gaps or replace under-performing subcontractors
  • Interpret and analyze cost details by project while regularly performing root cause evaluation on all variances, both positive and negative
  • Administrate an effective project close-out

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year college degree and strong preference for candidate with a construction management degree, certification or similar
  • Strong analytical skills and able to multi task in a constantly changing environment
  • Proven track record of self-motivation and follow through in rapidly changing environment
  • A proficient ability to comfortably communicate, both verbally in presentation and conversation, and written in correspondence to project team, vendors, consultants and partners.
  • Adept in MS office suite, including Power Point and Excel
  • Familiarity with construction documents preferred

 

SALARY: Competitive based on experience
