The platform currently has €47 Billion in assets under management. They have continued to expand their existing international investment portfolio and are now committed to specifically developing a commercial real estate investment platform within the U.S. Real Estate market. Today our client invests in multiple market segments including financial services, telecommunications, biotechnology, real estate and mechanical engineering.

 

Position Overview

This Acquisitions role will work with the firm’s Managing Director of one the world’s largest family offices to oversee the launch of their real estate investment portfolio in the U.S. This duo will sit in the company’s West Palm Beach, Florida office to source and evaluate Core +, Value-Add and Development opportunities, predominantly within Multi-Family, Industrial, Office, Retail and Mixed-Use throughout the U.S. with an initial focus on the Southeastern region. The team plans to expand the operations by leveraging the strategic nature of family office capital to secure investment positions in a broad range of asset classes and market locations. As the goal of the family office is to primarily acquire and manage properties directly, the candidate will get hands-on experience in the underwriting, acquisitions, and asset management of commercial real estate properties. The candidate will have a chance to participate in the foundation of the operations and have a material impact on the direction the company takes in the U.S. based on the types of deals he/she identifies and successfully underwrites. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate, collect and compile financial analysis and initial due diligence materials (financial statements, market reports, capital expenditure history, environmental and property condition reports, etc.)
  • Financial Modeling – Prepare / develop financial analysis which will include developing assumptions and market share, pro forma, capital and return analyses
  • Market Research – Compile, analyze and clearly report market data provided by industry periodicals, on-line content, and regional operating personnel
  • Competitive Analysis – Maintain detailed database for comparable sales, track market performance and other industry metrics
  • Financing – Coordinate acquisition/development financing and refinancing
  • Due Diligence – Manage due diligence processes such as establishing a DD budget, tendering for due diligence services, and consultant contract negotiation and management
  • Asset Management - Review property level operational and CAPEX budgets and provide economic lease analyses
  • Responsible for the preparation of all presentation materials, including Investment Memoranda for Investment Committee approval as well as regular operations reporting

Qualifications/Experience:

 

  • Undergraduate degree required. Course study/curriculum focused in real estate, finance, economics or business, preferred
  • 3+ years of real estate analysis experience required
  • A successful candidate will be seeking a highly entrepreneurial environment and will be successful in an unstructured, flexible professional setting 
  • Familiarity with market research databases including CoStar, Yardi Matrix, Real Capital Analytics
  • Experience with Argus preferred
  • Preferred underwriting experience in the following markets: Florida, Texas, Georgia and North Carolina
  • Knowledge of real estate cash flow modeling, property-level financial statements and basic accounting
  • Command of equity and debt metrics associated with real estate investments and development
  • Strong analytical and computer skills; advanced aptitude in Excel is required
  • Operates efficiently in a work environment with tight deadlines
  • Possesses strong organizational and project management skills and can multi-task and deliver on various goals
  • Strong research, interpretation and quantitative skills
  • Detail orientation with excellent written and oral communication skills
